Osobně si to nemyslím - představitel titulní role mi nesedí a irituje mne nejen svým zjevem, ale především nesnesitelným moralizováním a blahosklonnou "moudrostí", a ačkoliv se svého literárního předobrazu seriál nedrží nijak otrocky, nemohu se zbavit dojmu, že se v něm z předlohy objevuje to, co je na ní ne právě nejlepší (soudě hlavně podle 2. dílu) - Chestertonův nekriticky odmítavý, až xenofobní postoj k východním (a vlastně všem nekatolickým) náboženstvím a modernímu umění a konzervatismus prostý tolerance.
