How to Fix a Drug Scandal (2020-2020) Amazing doc about the drug testing system, and the lengths the District Attorney and Attorney General's offices are willing to take to keep injustice contained and not investigated.
That being said, this is not (should not be) about cases of druggies getting off due to a chemist potentially being high. I personally think it could have been longer to provide more of this context. They could have delved even deeper into the context of the war on drugs and the effects it has had overwhelming the criminal justice system. And that interesting story can be balanced with the people trying to deal with the aftermath.

If not for the diligence of some motivated souls, it may have just disappeared, but the scope and extent of the problems Farak caused were eventually exposed. The professional misconduct of so many will make you rage. Is it a bit drawn out?

Here we see character traits which seem to span the whole judicial system; a target driven, merit seeking work force, only concerned with climbing the ladder as a legal eagle; couldnt give a toss about justice, probably dont know the meaning of the word.
The episodes are filled with so many repeated flashbacks and images that if you would leave them out it could be two episodes shorter. It takes what needed to be a human story and makes it feel like tabloid. External Reviews Don't let some other person cause you to miss out.

Even the main corrupt scumbag, that served only 18 months in prison and cost the taxpayer millions, is presented as a victim in the last episode. How long had this been going on?
Dozens of people who thought their convictions should at least be reconsidered if not outright overturned were told that this was a small problem, and the justice system tried to make it go away.
Is that really a #1 ranking we wish to have or can be proud of? What leads someone to do that, especially when they start to realize it’s impacting their very important job? This is something that is never highlighted amd talked about. In the wake of a similar drug scandal from the previous year, in which a technician was found to be “dry labbing” (not actually doing the testing but saying she had), the system tried to sweep Farak-gate under the rug. What an amazing and kind man. Watch the trailer then the last 20 minutes of the 4th episode and you will get 90% of story. Why didn't they showed a case of one guy that never had a drug related problem with the law and was convicted because of those testers? Did anyone know what had been going on? The chemists are sentenced less than some of the thousands of people they helped put behind bars. I binged the entire series in one sitting. “How to Fix a Drug Scandal” is primarily the story of Sonja Farak, who was arrested in 2013. And that hyperactive approach extends to so much of “How to Fix a Drug Scandal,” including interview soundbites that sound over-considered to get attention. They don't care about victims, will victims of these criminals at what they have done to destroy our communities through drug trafficking and drug use. most of it whiny liberal garbage that says nothing about the victims of the crimes these criminals committed. The way they portrayed these convicts as simply innocent, poor angels being falsely accused is kind of ridicolus. Very tendentious documentary. The good guys are the ACLU lawyers and their clients (drug dealers) , the bad guys are the Cops and the Attorney General. As wrong as those two women were, they actually ended up doing that state an immense favor. And how is the system so broken that it’s even possible much less sustainable for a long period of time? All the time is spent on making these criminals look like victims, they should just retest the drugs. Don't even get me started on the for profit prison systems, the worst case of conflict of interest I can think of, or the fact that after serving out their complete sentences, felons are never free of the stain as they attempt to renter society in an endlessly uphill battle to find employment, gain housing, secure loans, or even reacquire their basic rights as citizens like their right to vote! Were these Law Enforcement scandals? The other chemist was just a mental case who didn't do her job. The Massachusetts Attorney General is no different. How to Fix a Drug Scandal explores how the justice system handled the case, and how experts perceived what happened in the laboratory. It has the same crime-and-punishment arc as the old show, the same gift for animating legal minutiae, the same relentless forward motion. I could have watched even more on the two fraudulent chemists as well. They documentary fails to explore how drug use impacts because across socioeconomic lines.
It’s almost as if all these engaging ways into the Farak story and the people around it were just too much for the producers of “How to Fix a Drug Scandal” to take, and so they lost their focus trying to hit them all. Honestly.. What was this documentary trying to tell us?
And they do this very smoothly, if one only follows what they want, one will lose track of what is really important: take drug dealers off the streets. It's not necessarly like that. The engrossing “How to Fix a Drug Scandal” might have been ripped from “Law & Order’”—if the new four-part series weren’t a thrilling piece of nonfiction. She began testing the product, becoming so addicted to drugs that she would regularly take breaks on the job to smoke crack. They represent justice but have no interest in serving it. Plus, everything in it is true.
Tragedy is just a string of wrong choices. Check box if your review contains spoilers. It is fair and balanced and paints a balanced picture of the many parties involved. And that's what really horrid about this documentary: it puts the viewer in an awful position of having to take sides with drug dealers. This is easily one of the best researched, prepared, and presented legal docs ever made.
Good vs. Bad Defense attorneys in the ACLU salivated over this type of situation. But more importantly, you'll gain a great appreciation for the hard work of defense attorneys that never give up. The most biased and tiresome part is that the drug dealers and their goodwill defence attorneys are present as the victims and good guys, and judges and prosecutors as the bag guys.
