It just seemed a bit clunky and to rely on too much unexplained backstory, which never makes for the best jumping on point for a first issue. Tini Howard pens the first issue of this ongoing series in Strikeforce #1. All the characters felt the same, cracking awkward one-liners. Someone. Colorist Jordie Bellaire, a veteran of (supernatural) horror herself, comes through with reliably good colors that run the gamut of tones from page-to-page, but especially reds that arent always just blood and gore! Something that could potentially destroy the world, something the Avengers, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, cannot know about!

You're hooked from the opening page and, even as the Avengers take some of the page space away, Howard keeps you hooked with some intriguing ideas until the central cast can return to the narrative. Blade, Angela, Spider-Woman, Wiccan, the Winter Soldier, Monica Rambeau and Daimon Hellstrom join forces to fight the fights that no other Marvel team can take on! Can't wait for the next issue. Once readers discover more, it feels like the initial introduction of the villains could be scrapped in favor of something more direct. At the end of the day, impossible situations like this is exactly what this team signed up for in the first place. The other character, Wiccan, was also well-written.
