jaws the revenge ending

If there's one character most closely associated with the Jaws franchise, it's, well, the great white shark itself. A long shot from the original Jaws movie shows the headless shark drifting towards the bottom. In the AMC version, this ending is extended with extra footage of Ellen forcing the boat into the shark, which is just reused footage seen earlier in the film. Like Sargent, Van Peebles was also offered the double lure of a large pay check and creative freedom.
Is Jaws: The Revenge a great film that’s just got a bad rap? The 2016 Blu-Ray features the original alternate ending (shark simply stabbed to death) as a bonus feature.

Other deleted scenes feature Jake and Mike singing and playing guitar on the porch, Ellen telling Mike a strange joke, and more scenes of Ellen and Hoagie walking around doing nothing! Time was so short during filming that Guest found himself working seven days a week; when he wasn’t performing his dialogue scenes, he was off with the second unit, filming the underwater sequences with the malfunctioning shark. The shark begins to bleed heavily and eventually sinks into the ocean.

The film itself uses the usual "shark explosion" ending. With Lorraine Gary, Lance Guest, Mario Van Peebles, Karen Young.

It ends with the shark roaring over and over like Godzilla storming through Tokyo - a gross distortion of the comparatively discrete growl the shark emits in Jaws 3-D - and then it is pierced with a boat's broken prow and it blows up like a goddamn Death … Report. Lance Guest, who’d previously appeared in such films as Halloween II and The Last Starfighter, was hired to play Michael, Ellen’s now grown-up son (a role filled by Dennis Quaid in Jaws 3D). Sargent and de Guzman wanted Brody back, but in a capacity with weird echoes of Hitchcock’s Psycho.

The special effects photography, however, continued in the Bahamas right up until June 4 – leaving less than six weeks to get the movie edited and into theaters.

Directed by Joseph Sargent. The only difference between the BBC and Theatrical is the BBC is sped up and in the end, results to appear only 1 hour and 22 min. Legal Eagles was an absolute delight when compared to what came next. “One day,” Gary said in another newspaper interview a few months later, “Sid came home and said they were going to make another Jaws due to the high TV ratings of the first two pictures.”. In fact, he didn't even get to meet his maker onscreen. If the BBC was not sped up, it would be exactly the same as the Theatrical Version. Aliens‘ tagline was, famously, “This time it’s war.” The Jaws sequel’s was, less famously, “This time, it’s personal.”, “… We focused on Ellen Brody and her feeling that the shark, in effect, had a vendetta against the family.” – Joseph Sargent.
