In an alternate scenario where the Autobots silently trailed Scavenger while the Decepticon held Sarah Sanders captive, Prowl and the others followed him all the way to the Decepticons’ secret desert base.
This throwing of the gauntlet led to the two Autobots having a race at Crazy Coyote Canyon, with Bulkhead joining in for the heck of it. In 2005, he met his end at the hands of the Decepticons shortly before the Battle of Autobot City.
And when Prowl eventually located the Autobot—dead and stuffed inside a starship belonging to Axer—Ratchet confirmed via energon decay that Shearbolt had been dead BEFORE Prowl supposedly had a conversation with him. In a completely different scenario, wherein Hot Rod and Kup returned to Autobot headquarters for reinforcements after seeing the spaceship land, the two of them reported to Ultra Magnus directly, who agreed the situation necessitated further investigation. After the battle, Sumdac revealed his role in Megatron's resurrection, explaining that he had built his robotics empire by reverse-engineering Cybertronian technology; although Prowl and the other Autobots were furious at learning this, Prime reminded them that they had other priorities. As Soundwave focused on getting Optimus to offline Sari, Prowl took the opportunity to knock Ratbat out of the Decepticon's hands, breaking his control. Although he is furious with Ratchet for breaking cover, he is at least willing to allow Rachet to get the data from the humans.
If the Autobots managed to blast neither of the Asteroids, they were all crushed between the giant pieces of space debris.
